George
We could not have made this bucket list dream come true without the support and help of our amazing and knowledgeable friends at the Oxygen Concentrator store from American Medical Sales and Rentals. They helped us secure all the necessary equipment so George could travel and stay with his grandparents for 3 weeks.
George's grandparents were unaware of this surprise visit from their grandson, whom they had not seen in ten years, and to say they were overjoyed would be a gross understatement. The tears of joy, laughter, love and dancing that ensued after George and Jazmine surprised them was straight out of a Hollywood movie. Our Dream Committee is currently trying to secure travel visas so George's grandparents can visit him here in Colorado so stay tuned on our social channels for updates!
We were also able to collaborate with the Butterfly Foundation, who generously donated $2,000 for wrap around care for George and his family.
Grab a cup of coffee or your favorite cozy beverage and settle in for the most heart warming story you've heard in a while. Our most recent dreamer, George, is a 24 year old young man with congenital cardiac disease. At this time, there are no further treatment options for George. His biggest bucket list dream was to return to Durango, Mexico to visit his grandparents.
The Project Sol Flower Dream Committee jumped into action and secured emergency passports for George and his sister. We were able to book last-minute, roundtrip plane tickets for the two of them and contribute spending money for their trip. Of note, is that George is on a significant amount of daily oxygen so we needed to secure oxygen rentals that would keep George comfortable and safe while traveling.
